Harmonic Reducers to be Delivered to SLM
WONST, a bearing specialist, announced on the 23rd its full-scale entry into the harmonic reducer market. Harmonic reducers are key components that reduce the speed of high-speed motors, enabling robots to perform precise tasks.

WONST plans to deliver 50 million won worth of harmonic reducers to SLM, a manufacturer of underwater vessel cleaning robots, early next month. A WONST representative stated, “We plan to soon supply products to a dental medical device company as well,” and “We are in ongoing purchasing discussions with other industrial robot companies.”

Last October, WONST signed a sales contract for harmonic reducers with Fishia Motion, China’s third-largest manufacturer, establishing a system for supplying reducers domestically. The company explained that this was achieved by leveraging its proprietary technology, including the domestic production of LM guides, a key component required for linear motion in robots. Fishia Motion’s reducers, which held a 12.4% market share in China last year, are ultra-thin and highly rigid, and are recognized for their durability.

A company representative emphasized, “Fishia Motion’s reducers meet the diverse needs of the domestic industry in terms of quality, design flexibility, and price competitiveness.” They added, “We will actively participate in new model development and continue to secure a stable supply chain to establish ourselves as a key partner.”
